Aluna Francis
AlunaGeorge are an English electronic music duo from London, consisting of singer-songwriter Aluna Francis and producer George Reid. Since 2020, the duo has been on indefinite hiatus, allowing both members to pursue solo projects. Career 2009: Formation The duo first met in June 2009, when Reid remixed Francis' band My Toys Like Me's track "Sweetheart". 2012–2016: Breakthrough and ''Body Music'' AlunaGeorge released the single " You Know You Like It" as a digital download on 20 April 2012, followed by a vinyl release on 11 June 2012. Scala is a former movie theater, cinema turned nightclub and live music venue in Pentonville Road, London, England, near London King's Cross railway station, King's Cross railway station. History The Scala was originally built as a cinema to the designs of H Courtney Constantine, but construction was interrupted by the First World War and it spent some time being used to manufacture aircraft parts, and as a labour exchange for demobilised troops before opening in 1920 as the King's Cross Cinema. The cinema changed hands and names several times through its life and also changed focus, ranging from mainstream to art-house to adult film over 70 years, as well as spending a short time as a primatarium. Critical reception The track was met with universal acclaim upon its release. ''Pitchfork'' labeled it "Best New Track". Music video A music video to accompany the release of "Attracting Flies" was first released onto YouTube on 10 March 2013 at a total length of three minutes and twenty-seven seconds. The video is a play on the song's chorus' line "Little grey fairytales and little white lies". It features Aluna as the protagonists of various well-known fairytales, however each of them have been given a gritty, urban twist. Huw Stephens
Huw Meredydd Stephens (born 25 May 1981) is a Welsh radio and television presenter, currently broadcasting on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio 6 Music. Stephens founded the Sŵn music festival with John Rostron and the yearly showcase Welsh Language Music Day. Stephens produced the 2018 documentary film ''Anorac'' about the Welsh language music scene. He presented the ''Cofiwch Dryweryn'' documentary for S4C, following the history of the graffiti that his father painted in 1963, and ''The Story of Welsh Art'', a 3-part documentary series for the BBC. Disclosure is an English electronic music duo consisting of brothers Howard (born 11 May 1994) and Guy Lawrence (born 25 May 1991). They grew up in Reigate, Surrey. Brit Awards 2013 was held on 20 February 2013. This was the 33rd edition of the British Phonographic Industry's annual Brit Awards. The awards ceremony was held at The O2 Arena in London, and was presented for the third time in three years by James Corden. Leading the nominations were Mumford & Sons and Emeli Sandé with four nominations each, but Sandé and Ben Howard ended up as the most successful winners, with two awards each. Popjustice is a music website founded in 2000 by UK freelance music journalist Peter Robinson, who has worked for ''NME'', ''The Guardian'', ''Attitude'' and many others. It is composed of the work of editor Robinson, features editor Michael Cragg, and a host of contributors.
