Altitude FC is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in North Vancouver, British Columbia that plays in League1 British Columbia. History The club was officially unveiled on November 15, 2021, as an inaugural license holder for the first season of the new semi-professional League1 British Columbia in 2022. The founders began working on forming the club in 2020, when BC Soccer issued an RFP for interested clubs. Located in the city of North Vancouver, the club plans to represent the entire North Shore region, as well as the Sea-to-Sky Corridor. The group was formed by Faly Academy and a group of local investors and is set to play out of Kinsmen Stadium. The club intends to work alongside local youth clubs, such as North Van FC, West Van FC, and the North Shore Girls SC, rather than to try to compete with them for players, who can move to Altitude as part of the player pathway. League1 British Columbia (L1BC) is a semi-professional men's and women's soccer league in British Columbia, Canada, which began play in May 2022. The league is sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association and the BC Soccer Association as a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. The league is a member of League1 Canada. L1BC operates at the same level as League1 Ontario and the Première ligue de soccer du Québec. The semi-professional league was created to fill in the gap between the top amateur leagues in the province, such as the Pacific Coast Soccer League, Fraser Valley Soccer League, Vancouver Island Soccer League and Vancouver Metro Soccer League, with the professional top tier Canadian Premier League. The Sea-to-Sky Corridor, often referred to as the Corridor or the Sea to Sky Country, is a region in British Columbia spreading from Horseshoe Bay through Whistler to the Pemberton Valley and sometimes beyond to include Birken and D'Arcy.
