Alternativet Symbol (2015–present)
The Alternative () is a Green politics, green and Pro-Europeanism, pro-European List of political parties in Denmark, political party in Denmark. The party was publicly launched on 27 November 2013 by former Minister for Culture (Denmark), Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk and Josephine Fock; Elbæk had been a parliamentarian for the Danish Social Liberal Party, Social Liberal Party. Elbæk was the leader of the party until February 2020, where he stepped down and was succeeded by Fock. Currently the party is led by Franciska Rosenkilde. It collaborates with Democracy in Europe Movement 2025, DiEM25 at the European level. The Alternative regards itself as a political movement and a cultural voice, as well as a political party. Franciska Rosenkilde
Franciska Rosenkilde (born 19 March 1976) is a Danish geographer and politician who has been the leader of The Alternative since February 2021, replacing Josephine Fock. Alongside five other members of The Alternative, Rosenkilde was elected to the Folketing in November 2022. Education and civil career Rosenkilde has a professional bachelor's degree in health and nutrition from Metropol University College, which she studied from 2006 to 2010. In 2012, she began a master's degree in geography from the University of Copenhagen, which she completed in 2015. Rosenkilde wrote her master's thesis on food systems and climate change. Prior to her political career, she worked as a chef and as a mediator of diet and lifestyle. Climate Change Mitigation
Climate change mitigation (or decarbonisation) is action to limit the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that cause climate change. Climate change mitigation actions include energy conservation, conserving energy and Fossil fuel phase-out, replacing fossil fuels with sustainable energy, clean energy sources. Secondary mitigation strategies include changes to land use and carbon sequestration, removing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. Current climate change mitigation policies are insufficient as they would still result in global warming of about 2.7 °C by 2100, significantly above the 2015 Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to below 2 °C. The Social Democrats ( , , S) is a Social democracy, social democratic list of political parties in Denmark, political party in Denmark. Helle Thorning-Schmidt
Helle Thorning-Schmidt (; born 14 December 1966) is a Danish retired politician who served as the 26th Prime Minister of Denmark from 2011 to 2015, and Leader of the Social Democrats from 2005 to 2015. Rasmus Nordqvist (born 18 July 1975) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Socialist People's Party. He was elected into parliament in the 2015 Danish general election as a member of The Alternative, but changed party to the SPP in 2020. Political career Nordqvist was elected into parliament as a member of The Alternative in the 2015 election. Torsten Gejl (born 30 January 1964) is a Danish politician who is a member of the Folketing for The Alternative political party. He was elected into parliament at the 2015 Danish general election.
