Alsen, Jämtland
Alsen is a parish (so called ''socken'') and former municipality (pop. 1,274) in Krokom Municipality, Jämtland in the middle of Sweden. The seat of the former municipality Alsen, Hov, is situated 50 kilometres northwest of Östersund, the capital of Jämtland. History Jämtland has over 20 000 documented ancient monuments. Petroglyphs in Glösa in the centre of Alsen were made approximately 6 000 years ago. Alsen and other parts of Jämtland were Christianized in the middle of the 11th century. From 1178 to 1645 Alsen was a part of Norway. In 1645 Sweden received Alsen as a part of the Treaty of Brömsebro. Alsen is a genuine agricultural area with a long history. In today’s Alsen, farming is less important, but is still an important part of the local culture. Storsjön
Storsjön (, ) is the fifth largest lake in Sweden, with an area of and a greatest depth of . It is the largest lake in central Sweden, located in the province of Jämtland in modern Jämtland County. Alcohol Fuel
Various alcohols are used as fuel for internal combustion engines. The first four aliphatic alcohols (methanol, ethanol, propanol, and butanol) are of interest as fuels because they can be synthesized chemically or biologically, and they have characteristics which allow them to be used in internal combustion engines. The general chemical formula for alcohol fuel is CnH2n+1OH. Most methanol is produced from natural gas, although it can be produced from biomass using very similar chemical processes. Ethanol is commonly produced from biological material through fermentation processes. Trangia is a line of alcohol fuel, alcohol-burning portable stoves manufactured by Sweden, Swedish company Trangia AB in Trångsviken. These stoves are designed primarily for Backpacking (wilderness), backpackers, with a focus on light weight, durability and simple design. The company began in 1925, selling cookware. The Trangia stove was developed by 1951. Trangia stoves were initially preferred to kerosene (paraffin) pressure stoves because they required only one type of fuel (alcohol, usually in the form of cheaper but deliberately poisonous methylated spirit). Trangia's selling point is that the entire packaged stove, including pots, is not significantly larger than a standard camp cooking pot.
