The Alpine A110 is a Rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car introduced by French car manufacturer Automobiles Alpine, Alpine () at the 87th Geneva Motor Show#2017, Geneva International Motor Show in March 2017. Deliveries began in late 2017 for Continental European markets and in 2018 for the UK, Japan and Australia. Both its name and design refer back to the original Alpine A110 that was produced from 1961 to 1977. Specifications Based on an all-Aluminium alloy, aluminium construction, the A110 is powered by a Nissan-derived 1.8-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection Multi-valve#Multi-valve rationale, 4 valves per cylinder inline-four engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, dual-clutch transmission manufactured by Getrag. Société des Automobiles Alpine SAS, commonly known as Alpine (, ), is a French manufacturer of sports cars and Auto racing, racing cars established in 1955. The Alpine car marque was created in 1954. Jean Rédélé, the founder of Alpine, was originally a Dieppe, Seine-Maritime, Dieppe garage proprietor who began to achieve success in motorsport with the Renault 4CV, one of the few French cars produced after the Second World War. The company has been closely associated to Renault throughout its history, and was bought by it in 1973. The Alpine competition department merged into Renault Sport in 1976 and the production of Alpine-badged models ceased in 1995. The Alpine brand was relaunched with the 2017 introduction of the new Alpine A110 (2017), Alpine A110. In January 2021, as part of a company revamp, Renault announced that Renault Sport was again merged into Alpine to form an Alpine business unit.
