Alpha Gamma Upsilon () was a social fraternity founded in 1922 at Anthony Wayne Institute in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In May 1965, it was absorbed in part by Alpha Sigma Phi (). Anthony Wayne Institute was a commercial college located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States. Its students included men and women. The school closed in 1933 because of the Great Depression in the United States, Great Depression. History The Anthony Wayne Institute was a two-year commercial school that focused on business education for men and women. The school was named for General Anthony Wayne, the founder of Fort Wayne. The institute advertised that it was "a different school" that was "founded upon modern methods". Trine University is a private university in Angola, Indiana, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, with education centers in Detroit, Phoenix and Reston, Virginia. It was founded in 1884 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. History "Tri-State Normal College" was established in 1884. Kappa Nu () was an American college fraternity that was active from 1911 to 1961 when it merged with Phi Epsilon Pi. History Kappa Nu was founded at the University of Rochester on November 12, 1911. The founders were: * Joseph Bernhardt * Abraham Levy * Joseph Lazarus * Harold Leve * Morris Lazersohn * Louis Gottlieb All six were pre-medical or medical students. Their intention was to create a local-only fraternity for Jewish students. In 1917, five loosely connected groups (U of Rochester and others created by men who had left Rochester) held a convention in Rochester and set up Kappa Nu as a National Fraternity.
