Almar Orri Atlason
Almar Orri Atlason (born 28 December 2004) is an Icelandic basketball player who plays for Bradley University and the Icelandic national team programs. He played up through the junior ranks of KR before heading to Italy in 2019 where he joined A.S. Stella Azzurra. He returned to KR the following season and started his senior team career during the 2020–21 season. In August 2022, Almar Orri joined Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas, United States. In April 2023, he announced that he join Bradley University. National team career In August 2021, he was selected to the U-18 All-First team of the Nordic Tournament after averaging 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. In 2022, he led Iceland to the semi-finals of FIBA IBA U18 European Championship Division B after posting 22 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks in a win against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Forward (basketball)
Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Darri Freyr Atlason
Darri Freyr Atlason is an Icelandic basketball coach and sports commentator. In 2019, he led Valur women's team to both its first national championship and first Icelandic Cup win. As a player, he won two national championships with KR in 2014 and 2015. Playing career Darri came up through the junior ranks of KR and played his first senior game with the team during the 2011–12 Úrvalsdeild karla season. He retired from playing in 2015 to fully focus on coaching. Coaching career Darri was hired as the head coach of 1. deild kvenna club KR in 2015. He led them to second place finish during the 2015–2016 season and was named the 1. deild kvenna Coach of the year.
