Ally Simpson
Allyson "Ally" Simpson (born December 20, 2000) is an American professional ice hockey defenceman for the New York Sirens of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Colgate. She was drafted 16th overall by New York in the 2024 PWHL Draft. Early life Simpson was born to James and Amy Simpson in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Frisco, Texas. She moved to Minnesota at 13 years old and attended Shattuck-Saint Mary's in Faribault, Minnesota, where she played ice hockey for five seasons. She also played ultimate frisbee, golf and lacrosse. As a senior in 2019, she recorded eight goals and 29 assists in 43 games. She helped the Sabres win a national championship in 2015, 2016, and 2018. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. USA Hockey is a national ice hockey organization in the United States.
