Alligator Blood (foaled 19 September 2016) is a seven-time Group 1 winning Australian bred thoroughbred racehorse. Background Bred by Australian entrepreneur Gerry Harvey, Alligator Blood was sold at the 2018 Magic Millions sale (Lot 22) for A$55,000 to the Ezybonds No 1 Syndicate. Racing career Alligator Blood's first Group 1 victory was in the 2020 Australian Guineas. In early 2022, Alligator Blood was banned from racing in the state of New South Wales. Racing NSW stated this was due to the majority owner being an undischarged bankrupt and not meeting the standard for horse ownership in New South Wales. In August 2022, Alligator Blood was also banned from racing in the state of Victoria by integrity officials. All Too Hard
All Too Hard (foaled 21 September 2009) is a four time Group 1 winning Australian thoroughbred racehorse. He is also a successful breeding stallion having sired numerous stakes winners. Background Bred by Gilgai Farm, All Too Hard is a half brother to undefeated sprinter Black Caviar, with both horses having the same mother in Helsinge. All Too Hard was sold at the 2011 Inglis Easter yearling sale for AU$1,025,000. He was purchased by Wayne and Michael and John Hawkes for Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm. Racing career 2011/12: two-year-old season All Too Hard's first race was on the 18 February 2012 at Flemington in the Listed Talindert Stakes. Group One
Group One, Group 1, Grade I or G1 is the term used for the highest level of Thoroughbred and Standardbred stakes races in many countries. In Europe, the level of races for Thoroughbred racing is determined using the Pattern races, Pattern race system introduced in 1971 and monitored by the European Pattern Committee. To attain or maintain a Group One status, the average rating for the first four finishers in the race must be 115 or higher over a three-year period. Roberto (horse)
Roberto (16 March 1969 – 2 August 1988) was an American-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse. In a career that lasted from 1971 until July 1973, he ran fourteen times and won seven races. He was the best Irish two-year-old of 1971, when his victories included the National Stakes. As a three-year-old, he won the Epsom Derby, Derby before recording a famous victory over Brigadier Gerard (horse), Brigadier Gerard in the inaugural running of the International Stakes, Benson and Hedges Gold Cup. This is regarded by many experts to have been one of the greatest ever performances on a European racecourse. He won the Coronation Cup as a four-year-old before being retired to stud. Northern Dancer
Northern Dancer (May 27, 1961 – November 16, 1990) was a Thoroughbred that, in 1964, became the first Canadian-bred horse to win the Kentucky Derby. After being retired from racing, he became one of the most successful Stallion, sires of the 20th century. Green Desert (16 April 1983 – 9 September 2015) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Racing career 1985: two-year-old season After finishing second on his racecourse debut, Green Desert won the July Stakes over six furlongs at Newmarket Racecourse. Last Tycoon (9 May 1983 – 27 May 2006) was an Irish bred Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the Breeders' Cup Mile and as a leading sire in Australia. Background Last Tycoon was bred in Ireland by his owner Richard C. Strauss's Kilfrush Stud Ltd. Racing career He was trained by Robert Collet from his base at Chantilly Racecourse. Red Ransom
Red Ransom (foaled 1987 in Virginia, died 2009) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse. In his 2006 book ''Designing Speed in the Racehorse'', author Ken McLean wrote that Red Ransom "was a sensationally fast juvenile." Bred by Paul Mellon and raced under his Rokeby Stables banner, he was sired by the 1972 Epsom Derby winner, Roberto. His dam was Arabia, a daughter of U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee, Damascus. Conditioned for racing by Hall of Fame trainer, MacKenzie Miller, on August 3, 1989 the two-year-old Red Ransom won his debut race while setting a new Saratoga Race Course record for five furlongs. He made his second start in early September at Belmont Park, scoring another win in a six furlong allowance race. Flying Spur (4 November 1992–8 May 2018) was an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse that won three Group One races, most notably the 1995 Golden Slipper.
