Allianz Regatta
Allianz Regatta, formerly known as the SPA Regatta, the Holland Regatta, the Delta Lloyd Regatta, and the Medemblik Regatta, is an annual sailing regatta in Almere, the Netherlands, first held in 1985 in Medemblik. It hosts the Olympic and Paralympic classes. In 2005, the regatta became the Holland Regatta. In 2015, it was part of the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup. Since 2022, it has been hosted in Almere, moving from Medemblik. Almere () is a planned city and municipality in the province of Flevoland, Netherlands, located about 20 km to the east of Amsterdam (as the crow flies) across the IJmeer. Mark Jacobus Louis Neeleman (born 16 April 1959, in Baghdad, Iraq) is a sailor from the Netherlands. Since the Netherlands did boycott the Moscow Olympic Games Neeleman represented his National Olympic Committee at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Tallinn, USSR under the Dutch NOC flag. Neeleman took 8th place in the 1980 Summer Olympics, which was boycotted by several countries. In 1984 Summer Olympics, Los Angeles Neeleman did a second attempt in the Finn and finished on the 9th place. Neeleman missed the selection for the 1988 Olympics, Pusan. Siren Sundby (born 2 December 1982 in Lørenskog) is a former Norwegian sailor. She won an Olympic gold medal in the Europe-class in the 2004 Summer Olympics. She also won the world championships in the Europe-class in 2003 and 2004. Sundby was selected female sailor of the year by the International Sailing Federation in 2003. Sari Multala (born 5 July 1978 in Helsinki) is a Finnish Olympic sailor, politician, member of Parliament of Finland and cabinet minister. Background Multala started sailing at the age 8 in a 24 ft keelboat however she soon switched to racing the Optimist (dinghy) class and soon started on the youth program of the Marjaniemen Purjehtijat Sailing Club.
