Arthur Nelson Alles
Arthur Nelson Alles was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1943 to 1945. After graduating from Waterloo College, Alles moved to Windsor, Ontario where he found work with Ford. He was elected as the MPP for Essex North representing the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (Ontario Section). In late 1944, he and fellow CCF MPP Leslie Hancock endorsed a proposal by A. A. MacLeod, leader of the Communist Labor-Progressive Party for a coalition between the LPP, the Liberals and the CCF to oust the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party government of George A. Drew. Hancock and Alles left the CCF caucus to sit as Independent Labour MPPs after CCF party leader Ted Jolliffe rejected the LPP proposal. Alles (November 26, 1901 – January 21, 1963), was an American chemist and pharmacologist who did extensive research on the isolation and properties of insulin for the treatment of diabetes, diabetics. He is also credited with discovering and publishing the physiological effects of amphetamine and methylenedioxyamphetamine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA).''On Speed: The Many Lives of Amphetamine''. Gustavo Javier Alles Vila (born 9 April 1990) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a forward for Progreso. Career Alles came through the youth levels of Defensor Sporting, but never played for the first team. In early 2011, he signed a one-year loan with Racing, where he played 10 matches in the Uruguayan Primera División. Tiran Alles is a Sri Lankan businessman and politician. He is a former member of Parliament of Sri Lanka and former Minister of Public Security. Alles entered politics as an ally of former General Sarath Fonseka and a member of parliament for Fonseka's Democratic National Alliance in 2010. Leaving parliament in 2015, he returned as a member of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa's Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the leader of the United People's Party in 2020 and became a minister in 2022.
