Allen Edwin Thompson
Allen Edwin Thompson (June 9, 1855 – February 12, 1910) was a farmer, butcher, cattle trader and political figure in Manitoba. He represented Souris from 1900 to 1903 and Arthur from 1903 to 1907 in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba as a Conservative. He was born in Switzerville, Ontario. Thompson came to Manitoba in 1882, settling near Deloraine. In 1891, he moved to Melita. Thompson was married twice: first to Lydia Jane Reese in 1883 and then to Emma Jane Burwash in 1898. In 1906, he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. Arthur is a former provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created in 1903 and was eliminated by redistribution in 1989, when its territory was combined with that from the neighbouring Virden (Manitoba riding), Virden riding to create the new riding of Arthur-Virden (Manitoba riding), Arthur-Virden. Deloraine, Manitoba
Deloraine is an unincorporated urban community in the Municipality of Deloraine – Winchester within the Canadian province of Manitoba that held town status prior to January 1, 2015. It is situated near the Turtle Mountains in the southwestern corner of the province. Located in the Westman Region, the community is south of Brandon. Deloraine originally incorporated as a village in 1904 and then as a town in 1907. Its town status was relinquished in 2015 when it amalgamated with the Rural Municipality of Winchester. Melita () is a town located in the south-western corner of the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is surrounded by the Municipality of Two Borders and occupies a bend of the Souris River. Mountain View Cemetery (Vancouver)
Mountain View Cemetery is the only cemetery in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia. Opened in 1886, it is located west of Fraser Street between 31st and 43rd Avenues. It is owned and operated by the City of Vancouver and occupies of land, containing more than 92,000 grave sites and over 145,000 interred remains. The first interment took place on February 26, 1887. The first interment was supposed to happen in January 1887 but poor weather, a new road, and a broken wagon wheel resulted in the intended first occupant being temporarily buried outside the cemetery.
