Allen (collaborative Projects)
Allen/___ is a set of collaborative metal supergroup projects by Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen. The first collaboration, Allen/Lande was formed in 2005 by Italian record company Frontiers, though none of the members are Italian. It takes its name from Allen and its other singer former Masterplan vocalist Jørn Lande. The project started with Swedish guitarist Magnus Karlsson ( Primal Fear, Starbreaker, Last Tribe) as producer, main instrumentalist and songwriter. Together with drummer Jaime Salazar, the quatuor released three albums: '' The Battle'' (2005), '' The Revenge'' (2007), and '' The Showdown'' (2010). In 2013, Timo Tolkki (ex-Stratovarius) and Jami Huovinen replaced Karlsson and Salazar, leading to the album '' The Great Divide'' (2014). Frontiers Music (formerly Frontiers Records) is an Italian record label that primarily focuses on hard rock. The label was founded in 1996 by Serafino Perugino and is headquartered in Naples. Anette Olzon
Anette Ingegerd Olsson (born 21 June 1971), known by the stage name Anette Olzon, is a Swedish singer, best known as the former lead vocalist of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish from 2007 to 2012. She is also the vocalist of Swedish classic rock band Alyson Avenue, and of the Finnish heavy metal band The Dark Element. Early life Olzon was raised in a musical family and has been singing since childhood. Her mother also forced her to play the oboe for eight years. She toured with her mother's band and sang with them on some occasions. Later, she started to take part in various talent shows and received laudable recognition. ''Worlds Apart'' is a collaborative album by American singer Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob, Allen-Lande) and Swedish singer Anette Olzon (ex-Nightwish) under the moniker Allen/Olzon. It was released through Frontiers Records on 6 March 2020. In 2019, Norwegian singer Jørn Lande announced that there would be no more Allen/Lande albums, citing his own lack of enthusiasm. Russell Allen then went forward with this new collaboration with Olzon, which was announced on 19 December 2019. The first song to be released was the title track, on 17 January 2020. Later, on 18 February, "Never Die" was streamed. On the same day as the album's release, Frontiers streamed the song "What If I Live". Finally, on 27 March, a lyric video for "I'll Never Leave You" was released. ''The Showdown'' is the third studio album by hard rock supergroup Allen-Lande, a collaboration between vocalists Russell Allen and Jørn Lande released on November 5, 2010. It is the third album in a row, and the last, to feature Magnus Karlsson as songwriter, producer and performer of most instruments, and Jaime Salazar on drums. Unlike on previous albums, Karlsson only wrote lyrics for a few songs, with most songs featuring lyrics by Tomas Erlandsson instead. A supergroup is a musical group formed of members who are already successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups Collaborative_album, recorded albums together, after which they normally disbanded. Timo Tolkki
Timo Tapio Tolkki (born 3 March 1966) is a Finnish musician best known as the former guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer of the power metal band Stratovarius. With his tenure lasting for more than twenty years, he was the longest standing member of the band before his departure in 2008. After leaving Stratovarius he formed two supergroups named Revolution Renaissance and Symfonia, both of which have since disbanded. In a 2011 article by '' Guitar World'' magazine, Tolkki was included in the all-time top 50 list of the world's fastest guitarists.
