Allan Pruett
Allan K. Pruett (June 8, 1948 – December 6, 2008) was an American basketball player. He played college basketball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Arkansas State Indians. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Pruett was raised in Rector, Arkansas, and attended Rector High School. He scored 2,018 points during his high school career and ranks third in scoring in Arkansas boys high school basketball history. Pruett began his collegiate career with the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 1966. Pruett transferred to play for the Arkansas State Indians in 1969, where he averaged 17.1 points per game and was named to the second-team All-Southland Conference during his first season. He averaged 19.5 points per game during the 1970–71 season and was selected as the Southland Player of the Year alongside Luke Adams of the Lamar Cardinals. Jonesboro () is a city located on Crowley's Ridge in the northeastern corner of the U.S. State of Arkansas. Jonesboro is one of two county seats of Craighead County, Arkansas, Craighead County. Lamar Cardinals Basketball
The Lamar Cardinals basketball team represents Lamar University in NCAA Division I men's basketball competition. The Cardinals currently play in the Southland Conference following a return from the Western Athletic Conference on July 11, 2022. They were one of four programs, all from Texas, that left the Southland Conference on July 1, 2021, to join the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Lamar left the Southland Conference for the second time, having initially joined at the league's formation in 1963, left in 1987, and returned in 1999. Luke Adams (basketball)
Luke Adams is an American former basketball player. He played college basketball for the Lamar Cardinals from 1969 to 1971. Adams was from LaBelle, Florida. He started his career with two seasons at Edison Junior College (now Florida SouthWestern State College) where he averaged 18.9 points and 20.3 rebounds during his sophomore season. Adams led the Lamar Cardinals in points and rebounds during the two seasons he played there. Adams was named as the Southland Player of the Year alongside Allan Pruett of the Arkansas State Red Wolves in 1971. He was a two-time selection to the All- Southland team. Adams was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the 132nd overall pick in the 1971 NBA draft.
