Allan Musoke
Allan Musoke (born 1980) is a Ugandan rugby union player. He plays as a wing. Professionally, he is a Learning and Development professional who works as a Human Resources Consultant with Strategic Engagement Limited. Musoke practised several sports since his youth years. He played basketball for DMark Power in the FUBA League, from 1996 to 1999, as a shooting guard, and football for Nsibirwa Hall at Makerere University, from 2000 to 2002, as a striker, until he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to rugby union. Musoke was one of the best Ugandan rugby players, even if he never played abroad. He plied his trade with Kampala Old Boys (KOBs) RFC until 2012 when he retired from the sport. He was for two times the MVP of the Ugandan rugby league. At international level, he played for the Uganda national rugby union team, Uganda, and is currently the top scorer for the "Cranes". Uganda National Rugby Union Team
The Uganda national rugby union team are a national sporting side of Uganda, representing them at rugby union. Rugby union was introduced by the British during colonial rule and Uganda played their first international game against Kenya in 1958. They have not yet qualified for the Rugby World Cup. Uganda compete annually against Kenya in the Elgon Cup and the Africa Cup. The Rugby Cranes won the CAR in 2007. History Uganda has a long history of rugby participation dating back to even before the first official rugby match was ever played in 1958. The Uganda Rugby Football Union (URFU) as it was known then was formed in 1955. There were no clubs formed at the time and games were frequently played between representative sides from Kenya and Tanganyika (Tanzania at the time) but most notably against the Royal Navy and some British and South African Universities. The African Leopards are an African rugby union representative team, organised by the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR). The side will play an important role in promoting rugby in Africa. The Leopards are the first ever Pan-African representative rugby union team.
