Allan Blazek
Allan Blazek (1949/1950 – August 3, 2021) was a record producer, mixer and audio engineer who had been active since the 1970s. He produced albums by Glenn Frey, REO Speedwagon, Elvin Bishop, J. Geils Band, Michael Stanley, Fandango, The Outlaws and Mike Reilly. He also engineered The Who's album, ''Face Dances'', and engineered the Eagles album, ''Hotel California''. Blazek was born in New Buffalo, Michigan. He joined the army during the Vietnam War, where he developed an interest in records produced by Bill Szymczyk, who would later mentor him. Blazek died at the age of 71 on August 3, 2021, in Michigan City, Indiana. Glenn Frey
Glenn Lewis Frey (; November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016) was an American singer, guitarist and a founding member of the rock band Eagles. Frey was the co-lead singer and frontman for the Eagles, roles he came to share with fellow member Don Henley, with whom he wrote most of the Eagles' material. Frey played guitar and keyboards as well as singing lead vocals on songs such as " Take It Easy", " Peaceful Easy Feeling", " Tequila Sunrise", " Already Gone", "James Dean", " Lyin' Eyes", " New Kid in Town", and " Heartache Tonight". During the hiatus of the Eagles from 1980 to 1994, Frey embarked on a successful solo career. He released his debut album, '' No Fun Aloud'', in 1982 and went on to record Top 40 hits " The One You Love", " Smuggler's Blues", " Sexy Girl", " The Heat Is On", " You Belong to the City", " True Love", " Soul Searchin'" and " Livin' Right". Rick Derringer
Rick Derringer (born Richard Dean Zehringer; August 5, 1947) is an American guitarist, vocalist, producer and songwriter. He came to prominence in the 1960s as founding member of his band, the McCoys. Their debut single, " Hang on Sloopy", was a number-one hit in 1965 and became a classic of the garage rock era. The McCoys then had seven songs that charted in the top 100, including versions of "Fever" and "Come on Let’s Go". In 1974, Derringer reached the US top 30 with his own song, " Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo". He also worked extensively with the brothers Edgar and Johnny Winter, playing lead and backing guitar in their bands and producing all of their gold and platinum recordings, including Edgar Winter's hits "Frankenstein" and " Free Ride" (both 1973). He has additionally worked with Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper and "Weird Al" Yankovic, producing Yankovic's Grammy Award-winning songs " Eat It" (1984) and " Fat" (1988). "Joy Ride" and "Time Warp" (not to be confused with '' The Rocky Horror Picture Show'' song) are instrumentals. Critical reception Reviewing for AllMusic, critic Cub Koda wrote of the album "this is simply Rick Derringer's most focused and cohesive album, a marvelous blend of rockers, ballads, and atmospheric instrumentals", adding it was "one of the great albums of the '70s that fell between the cracks." ''Friends and Legends'' is the second solo album by Michael Stanley. The album title refers to the backing musicians accompanying Stanley on the album, which was recorded at Applewood Studios in Golden, Colorado. The basic band on all tracks was Barnstorm, composed of Joe Walsh on lead guitar and synthesizer, Joe Vitale on drums, flute, synthesizer and backing vocals, and Kenny Passarelli on bass. In addition, three members of Stephen Stills' Manassas performed: Paul Harris on keyboards, Joe Lala on percussion and Al Perkins on pedal steel guitar, and the band also included saxophonist David Sanborn. Among the backing vocalists were Richie Furay and Dan Fogelberg. In keeping with the collaborative spirit, J. Geils assisted with production of the saxophone tracks. ''On the Border'' is the third studio album by American rock group the Eagles, released in 1974. Apart from two songs produced by Glyn Johns, it was produced by Bill Szymczyk because the group wanted a more rock‑oriented sound instead of the country-rock feel of the first two albums. It is the first Eagles album to feature guitarist Don Felder. ''On the Border'' reached number 17 on the ''Billboard'' album chart and has sold two million copies. Three singles were released from the album: "Already Gone", " James Dean" and " Best of My Love". The singles peaked at numbers 32, 77 and 1 respectively.
