Warlock (band)
Warlock was a German Heavy metal music, heavy metal band founded in 1982 in Düsseldorf by members of the underground bands Snakebite and Beast. The band gained popularity and some commercial success in Europe in the mid-1980s, due to the personality and stage presence of lead vocalist Doro (musician), Doro Pesch. Warlock supported successful heavy metal bands on tour, such as W.A.S.P. (band), W.A.S.P., Judas Priest, Dio (band), Dio and Megadeth. By the end of the decade, Doro Pesch was the sole original member who remained in the band and she was forced to change the name to Doro for legal reasons. ''Metal Queen – B-Sides & Rarities'' is a double CD compilation album released in 2007 under the label No Remorse Records, containing songs of the German hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album is not present in the discography section of Doro's official site and Discogs lists the album as an "unofficial release pretending to be released under No Remorse Records label". On the contrary, Encyclopaedia Metallum lists it as an official compilation. As of 2010, this is the only compilation collecting many b-sides of Doro's EPs and singles, as well as songs performed by Doro in other compilations and in albums by other artists. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" is a folk song written by Anne Bredon in the late 1950s. Joan Baez, who learned the song from a student at Oberlin College, recorded the first published version for her 1962 album ''Joan Baez in Concert'' and a variety of musicians subsequently adapted it to a variety of styles, including the Association (1965), Quicksilver Messenger Service (1968), and Led Zeppelin (1969). Following the credit on Baez's 1962 release as "traditional, arranged by Baez", subsequent releases did not name Bredon until 1990 when, following Bredon's approach to Led Zeppelin, she received credit and royalties. Joan Baez rendition In 1960, Anne Bredon appeared on a live folk-music show on radio station KPFA in Berkeley, California, where she performed "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You". Janet Smith heard the performance and later Joan Baez learned the song from Smith at Oberlin College. Marc Storace
Marc Storace (; born 7 October 1951) is a Maltese-born Swiss musician. His career in music started in the 1960s. He is most noted for his position as the lead singer and songwriter of the Swiss hard rock band Krokus from 1980. Before joining Krokus, he sang with the Swiss progressive rock band TEA. He has also since undertaken a solo project, duets, an acoustical project, and many guest slots. He also had some close encounters with the classical meets rock world and has worked with a few other rock acts as writer and a singer. Storace has a high-pitched raunchy voice, which has been compared to AC/DC's former lead singer Bon Scott and Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant. Since he began singing professionally in the 1970s, his style and voice have remained largely the same, with a noticeable increase of character, through maturity and years of live and studio experience. He played a major role in the Swiss-German films ''Anuk'' and ''Handyman'', in which he acted, as well as contributed ...
