Smash Mouth
Smash Mouth is an American rock band from San Jose, California. The band was formed in 1994, and was originally composed of Steve Harwell (lead vocals), Kevin Coleman (drums), Greg Camp (guitar), and Paul De Lisle (bass). With Harwell's departure in 2021, De Lisle remains the only original member. They are known for their songs " Walkin' on the Sun" (1997), " All Star" (1999), and " Then The Morning Comes" (1999), as well as a cover of The Monkees' " I'm a Believer" (2001). The band adopted retro styles covering several decades of popular music. Loosely based on Dr. Seuss's 1957 book of the same name, it was the second and final live-action feature-length Dr. Seuss adaptation after '' How the Grinch Stole Christmas'' (2000). "Getting Better" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 album ''Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band''. It was written mainly by Paul McCartney, with some of the lyrics written by John Lennon, and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. Composition The song has been said to be musically reminiscent of the Beatles' hit single " Penny Lane". It moves forward by way of regular chords, produced by Lennon and George Harrison's electric guitar. George Martin plays Pianet and piano, on the latter bypassing the keyboard and directly striking the strings. These heavily accented and repetitive lines cause the song to sound as if it is based on a drone. Harrison added an Indian tambura part to the final verse, which further accentuates this impact. ''Smash Mouth'' is the third studio album by American rock band Smash Mouth. It was released on November 27, 2001 by Interscope Records. It is notable in that it was their first album with new drummer Michael Urbano and its release was delayed a few months due to the death of lead vocalist Steve Harwell's son, Presley Scott Harwell. The album was eventually certified Gold by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000 in the U.S. Smash Mouth held a contest on their website in the fall of 2000 to name their third album.
