All Souls Church (Scott, Arkansas)
All Souls Church is a historic church built in 1906, located on Arkansas Highway 161, and United States Route 165 in Scott, Arkansas. History The religious needs of what became the Scott community were initially met by the 1880 construction of the Old Liberty Church, which was linked to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. This served until after the beginning of the twentieth century, when it closed, in part because of the poor roads in the area and the long distances the residents of the scattered plantations that made up the congregation had to traverse. In October 1905, the women of Scott established a Sunday school in an old store building adjacent to the present All Souls Church. Attendance rose from seventeen to eighty in six months, leading area planters to establish a community church that would use preachers from the Methodist, Baptist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, and Christian (Disciples of Christ) denominations to officiate on a rotating basis, since none of the f ... All Souls Church, Hastings
All Souls Church is a former Anglican church that served the Clive Vale suburb of Hastings, a seaside resort town and borough in the English county of East Sussex, between 1890 and 2007. The "large ndserious town church" has been described as one of the best works by prolific ecclesiastical architect Arthur Blomfield. Built almost wholly of brick, inside and out, it dominates the streetscape of the late Victorian suburb and has a tall, "dramatic" interior displaying many of Blomfield's favourite architectural features. The church also has Heaton, Butler and Bayne stained glass and an elaborate reredos. Falling attendances and high maintenance costs caused it to close after a final service in November 2007, and the Diocese of Chichester officially declared it redundant soon afterwards. The Church of All Souls is a redundant Anglican church in Astley Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. As of 2010, the church is being converted into a community centre. Early history The church was built between 1878 and 1881 and paid for by Thomas Greenhalgh, an Evangelical mill-owner. Thomas inherited the money from his brother Nathaniel, who had died in 1877, aged 60. It was one of two churches in the area financed from this inheritance, the other being St Saviour's. All Souls Church (Braintree, Massachusetts)
All Souls Church, also known as All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church of Braintree, is a church on the National Register of Historic Places, it is located at 196 Elm Street in Braintree, Massachusetts. The building is a large fieldstone structure, in a cruciform plan with a square tower that has a crenellated top. The gable ends are decorated with bargeboard, and the entrance is set under a gabled entry porch below a large window with Gothic tracery. The church was designed by Boston architect Edwin J. Lewis Jr. and built in 1905 for a congregation organized in 1900; it is Braintree's first stone church building. Land for the building was donated by George O. Wales, a leading force in uniting Braintree's Unitarian and Universalist congregations. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, built in 1894 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style is a historic building located at 25 Church Street in Bellville, Ohio, Bellville, Ohio. On January 1, 1976, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. History All Souls held its first services in 1822 using circuit rider (religious), circuit riders. The first meeting house was on the east side of Main Street. Official organization of the church was in 1847 and the first building of Western Reserve Italianate design was constructed near the corner of Church and Bell Streets in 1851. The current building, a Richardsonian Romanesque style structure, was constructed in 1894–1897. D. L. Briggs of Cleveland was the architect. The Unitarian Church of All Souls at 1157 Lexington Avenue at East 80th Street in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City was built in 1932 and was designed by Hobart Upjohn – Richard Upjohn's grandson – in the Neo-colonial style with a Regency-influenced brick base.
