All Progressives Grand Alliance
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is a Nigerian political party formed in June 2002 and has governed the South eastern state of Anambra since 2003. Electoral history At the Nigerian parliamentary election, 2003, legislative elections held on 12 April 2003, the party won 1.4% of popular votes and two of 360 seats in the House of Representatives of Nigeria but no seats in the Senate. Its candidate at the presidential elections of 19 April 2003, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, won 3.3% of the vote. In gubernatorial elections of April 2011, Chief Rochas Okorocha (APGA) was elected governor of Imo state, polling 15% more votes than incumbent governor Ikedi Ohakim (PDP). Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha (born 22 September 1962) is a Nigerian politician of Igbo extraction, from Imo State. Ifeanyi Chudy Momah is a Nigerian lawyer and businessman currently serving in the House of Representatives and represents Ihiala Federal Constituency, Anambra State. Aguata is a Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria, with its headquarters in Aguata. A major part of the headquarters falls into the town of Aguluezechukwu, while a smaller part falls into Ekwulobia. Chukwuma Michael Umeoji is a Nigerian Politician and a member in the Federal House of Representatives representing Aguata Federal Constituency Anambra State in the 9th National Assembly. Umeoji was the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) flag bearer in the gubernatorial elections taking place on 6 November 2021. After Umeoji's selection as candidate for governor, a party committee disqualified him from the primary election on grounds of "defiance and insubordination to the party authority" and "doubtful financial status". The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election. This marked the first time in Nigerian history that an opposition party unseated a governing party and power was transferred peacefully. The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) was a political party founded in Nigeria in 2009. In February 2013, the party merged with the Action Congress of Nigeria, the All Nigeria Peoples Party, and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance to form the All Progressives Congress. All Nigeria Peoples Party
The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) was a political party in Nigeria. The ANPP was a household party in the extreme north of Nigeria, primarily due to its mass appeal among more religious voters. It was the strongest opposition party, controlling seven of the nation's thirty-six states at one point. The party's biggest achievement in the 2003 election was its gubernatorial victory in Kano State where it defeated the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) to take control of one of the country's most populous states. Following the 2007 election, the ANPP challenged the victory of Umaru Yar'Adua, although it was announced on 27 June 2007 following talks, that the ANPP had agreed to join Yar'Adua's government of national unity.
