All Fired Up (Pat Benatar Song)
"All Fired Up" is a song written by and first released by Kerryn Tolhurst of the Rattling Sabres in 1987 which charted nationally, peaking at number 94 on the Australian Singles Chart. It became much better known when covered by Pat Benatar for her album, '' Wide Awake in Dreamland'', and released as the lead single in 1988. It reached number 19 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100—becoming Benatar's last US top 40 single to date—and peaked at the same position on both the UK Singles Chart and the Canadian ''RPM'' Top Singles chart. It also reached number 12 in South Africa and number two in Australia. The song is the title track on ''All Fired Up: The Very Best of Pat Benatar'', a two-CD compilation released in 1994. Rattling Sabres
Rattling Sabres were an Australian country rock group formed in 1986 by Leyton Greening on drums, Lindsay Hodgson on bass guitar, Robert Price on lead vocals and Kerryn Tolhurst on lead guitar (ex-the Dingoes). Greening was soon replaced on drums by John Lee (also ex-the Dingoes). They issued a single, " All Fired Up", in 1987 which had been written by Tolhurst. It peaked in the lower reaches of the Kent Music Report's top 100 singles chart. History In 1986 Kerryn Tolhurst returned to Australia after working in the United States as a songwriter.
