All-MPBL First Team
The All-MPBL Team is a Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) honour given to the league's best players. It was first presented during the 2018–19 MPBL season. Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League
The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's regional professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of 30 teams. Founded in 2017 by eight-division boxing world champion and then-Senator Manny Pacquiao, the MPBL is not intended to be a competitor to the top-flight Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), but rather to provide a gateway for local, homegrown talents to showcase their skills. The league uses a home-and-away format, similar to the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. The MPBL started an amateur league before being granted professional status by the Games and Amusements Board. Due to Pacquiao's role in the league, it has also been referred to as Manny Pacquiao's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Davao Occidental Tigers
The Davao Occidental Tigers (also known as Davao Occidental Tigers – Cocolife due to sponsorship reasons) are a Filipino professional basketball team based in the Davao metropolitan area and representing the province of Davao Occidental. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League as a member of the league's South Division. The team hasn't played any home games in Davao Occidental, but has played at a variety of venues across Metro Davao. The franchise was founded as an expansion team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for its 2018–19 season. GenSan Warriors
The GenSan Warriors are a Filipino professional basketball team based in General Santos. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team most recently played their home games at Lagao Gymnasium. The team's first incarnation began play in the Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA) as the GenSan MP PacMan Warriors from 2005 to 2008 while also playing in the National Basketball Conference (NBC) from 2007 to 2008. The team played in Liga Pilipinas from 2008 to 2011 as the MP–GenSan Warriors following the merger of the two former leagues. John Murphy "Pamboy" Raymundo (born May 30, 1989) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Biñan Tatak Gel of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and Pilipinas Super League (PSL). He was drafted 12th overall in 2011 by the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters. He also played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). Early life Raymundo started playing basketball at the age of seven. Jeric Allen Uy Teng (born March 18, 1991) is a Filipino basketball player who last played for the Quezon Huskers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted 12th overall by Rain or Shine in the 2013 PBA draft. He played college ball for the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP. The Makati Super Crunch was a Filipino professional basketball team based in Makati. The team last competed in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) from 2018 to 2023 and played its home games at Makati Coliseum. 2019–20 MPBL Season
The 2019–20 MPBL season, also known as the MPBL Lakan Season or the Chooks-to-Go MPBL Lakan Season for sponsorship reasons, was the third season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. It was also the last season of the league's amateur era, as they would turn professional in December 2021. The regular season began June 12, 2019 with the opening ceremonies at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, and ended on February 12, 2020. The 2020 MPBL All-Star Game was also held at the same venue on February 13, 2020. The playoffs then began on February 15, 2020. This season was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines as the season had to be suspended on March 11, 2020, midway through the division finals. The San Juan Knights (also abbreviated as SJK) are a Filipino professional basketball team based in San Juan. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's North Division. The team plays its home games at Playtime Filoil Centre. Mark Yee
Mark Yee (born January 4, 1982) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Abra Solid North Weavers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). A two-time Philippine Basketball Association champion, Yee has seen much success after joining the MPBL in 2018, where he won Finals MVP with the Davao Occidental Tigers in 2021. He is also the only player in MPBL history to notch two Defensive Player of the Year awards. He also has three all-star selections on top of his two appearances in the All-MPBL First Team.
