Aliyah (NCIS)
"Aliyah" is the twenty-fifth and final episode of the sixth season of the American police procedural drama ''NCIS'', and the 138th episode overall. It originally aired on CBS in the United States on May 19, 2009. The episode is written by David North, directed by Dennis Smith, and was seen live by 16.51 million viewers. "Aliyah" picks up following a cliff-hanger in the previous episode, "Semper Fidelis", in which Tony DiNozzo fatally shoots Ziva David's Mossad boyfriend, Michael Rivkin, in self-defense. It also follows the "Legend" storyline, culminating in Ziva's departure from NCIS and eventual captivity in Somalia. Etymology "Aliyah" is a Hebrew word which literally means "going up" or "ascent". It is most commonly associated with Jewish immigration to Israel and return to the Holy Land. In this case, it is a reference to Ziva's return to Israel and her blood family. Kidon
Kidon ( he, כידון, "bayonet", "javelin" or a "spear") is the elite unit within Israel's Mossad that is allegedly responsible for the planning and execution of clandestine assassination campaigns against enemies of the Israeli state. Unconfirmed claims Kidon is described by journalist Yaakov Katz as "an elite group of expert assassins who operate under the Caesarea branch of the espionage organization. Not much is known about this mysterious unit, details of which are some of the most closely guarded secrets in the Israeli intelligence community." Ziva David Captivity Storyline
The Ziva David captivity storyline refers to a series of episodes from the American police procedural drama ''NCIS'' surrounding the imprisonment of protagonist Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) in a Somali terrorist training camp and its aftermath. Originally created by then-executive producer Shane Brennan, the story arc first aired in 2009 during the sixth season of the show and continued into the seventh season. On 31 December 2014, Smart TV manufacturer VIZIO acquired BuddyTV's parent Advanced Media Research Group, Inc., in order to expand content and service offerings.
