Alison Dos Santos
Alison Brendom Alves dos Santos (born 3 June 2000) is a Brazilian athlete specialising in the 400 metres hurdles. He is a bronze medalist from the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics, the 2022 World Champion and the third fastest athlete in the history of the event, in addition to being a gold medalist in the 2019 Pan American Games. Dos Santos is currently the South American and Pan American record holder in the competition. He was the 2022 Diamond League 400 m hurdles champion. Early life Dos Santos was born on 3 June 2000 in São Joaquim da Barra, Brazil to father Gerson and mother Sueli. Dos Santos is the last of four children and has three older sisters: Drieli, Andrieli, and Anieli. His parents separated later. IAAF World U20 Championships
The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1986 and renamed to IAAF World U20 Championships in November 2015. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby is the most successful athlete at the championships, having won one gold and four silver in individual and relay sprinting events between 2000 and 2004. Sport of athletics, Athletics competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held between July 27 and August 11, 2019 at the Athletics Stadium in the Villa Deportiva Nacional Videna cluster, with the marathon and walks being held at Miraflores Central Park, Kennedy Park. A total of 48 events were contested, equally divided among men and women. The women's 50 km walk was added for this edition of the Games, marking the first time that men and women competed in an equal number of events. Qualification Up to a total of 740 athletes were qualified to compete. Each nation may enter a maximum of two athletes in each individual event, and one team per relay event.
