Uga Carlini is a South African and Italian film director, writer, actor and producer. She is known for the documentary '' Alison'' (2016), the feature film '' Angeliena'' (2021), and the documentary '' Beyond the Light Barrier'' (2023). Life and career Carlini was born in Pretoria, Gauteng and graduated from Stellenbosch University. Her mother is South African and her father is of Italian descent. In 2010, She founded Towerkop Creations, a production company centered on stories featuring female protagonists. Since 2025, Towerkop Creations has operated a branch in Vancouver, Canada, expanding its presence beyond South Africa. Her debut documentary short film, ''Good Planets Are Hard to Find'', was about Elizabeth Klarer. Christia Visser (born 2 March 1992) is a South African actress and singer. She received a SAFTA nomination for her performance in the film '' Tess'' (2016). She began releasing music in 2019.
