Alipur Chatha
Ali Pur Chattha (formerly Akalgarh) is a Tehsil and union council of Alipur Chatha Tehsil, Wazirabad District, Punjab, Pakistan. Ali Pur Chattha is a tehsil of Wazirabad in Gujranwala division of Pakistan. The municipality was created in 1867 during colonial rule. It is situated 35 km west of the district capital Wazirabad, between 25 and 30 km north of Hafizabad, 8 km south of Rasool Nagar, 26 km east of Vanike Tarar and 15 km from Chenab River ( Qadirabad Barrage). History Earlier name of the village was Aligarh. This village had Chatha clan's population. It was won by Sardar Maha Singh in 1718. He named it Akalgarh. In the Ali Pur Chattha area, there are the ruins of the historical city of Akālgarh with the remnants of the Sikh Empire in this area. The municipality was created in 1867 during colonial rule. Chenab River
The Chenab River is a major river in India and Pakistan, and is one of the 5 major rivers of the Punjab region. It is formed by the union of two headwaters, the Chandra and Bhaga, which rise in the upper Himalayas in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh, India. The Chenab flows then through the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir, India into the plains of Punjab, Pakistan, where it joins the Sutlej River to form the Panjnad, which ultimately flows into the Indus River at Mithankot. The waters of the Chenab were allocated to Pakistan under the terms of the Indus Waters Treaty. India is allowed non-consumptive uses such as power generation. This is a list of tehsils of Pakistan, the fourth level of government overall and the middle tier in the local government system. In some areas, the alternative word "taluka" is used but this is merely a historical formality. The list is organised by provinces and territories of Pakistan. Every district of Pakistan is administratively divided into several tehsils. Each tehsil is governed by a Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), which is focussed around a tehsil/taluka council. The head of each tehsil is a Tehsil/Taluka Nazim, assisted by a tehsil/taluka municipal officer (TMO) and a number of other officials, all of whom are answerable to the tehsil/taluka council.
