Ablanitsa, Blagoevgrad Province
Ablanitsa () is a village in Hadzhidimovo Municipality, in Blagoevgrad Province, Bulgaria. Geography Ablanitsa is located 22 km southeast of the town of Gotse Delchev and 9 km east of the municipal center of Hadzhidimovo, in the semi-mountainous southwestern part of the Dabrash ridge of the Western Rhodope Mountains. Its land is located between the valleys of the Mesta River to the southwest and its left tributary the Chechka Bistritsa to the east, forming its natural boundary. The village is part of the Chech historical and geographical area, divided between Bulgaria and Greece, made up of 60 villages populated by Pomaks. The climate is transitional Mediterranean with a mountain influence with favorable conditions for the cultivation of heat-loving crops - tobacco, vineyards, figs, almonds, cotton, maize and others. The People's Republic of Bulgaria (PRB; , NRB; ) was the official name of Bulgaria when it was a socialist republic from 1946 to 1990, ruled by the Bulgarian Communist Party (BCP; ) together with its coalition partner, the Bulgarian Agrarian People's Union. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms ( ''Dvizhenie za prava i svobodi'', ДПС, DPS; , HÖH) is a political party in Bulgaria with a support base among ethnic minority communities. Until 2024 it was a member of the Liberal International and the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE). While representing the interests of Muslims, especially Turks and to a lesser extent Pomaks (Muslim Bulgarians), the party also receives the largest share of Romani votes. History The party was officially established in 1990, with its founder Ahmed Dogan serving as its leader until 2013. On 19 January 2013, Lyutfi Mestan was elected as the second chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. The first National Assembly was established in 1879 with the Tarnovo Constitution.
