Alinagarer Golokdhadha
''Alinagarer Golokdhadha'' (English: The Maze of Alinagar) is an adventure mystery film, released on 20 April 2018, directed by Sayantan Ghosal, produced by Rutrum Juin, starring Anirban Bhattacharya and Parno Mittra in lead roles. It is film collaboration for a Bengali language, Bengali movie between Eros International and Champion Movies. Plot In 1990, the last surviving member of a family of Permanent Settlement, landlords in Murshidabad auctions off his valuable possessions to the local villagers, for very low returns. Among those valuables was an old sword, which was surprisingly bought by Somnath Das for 1000 rupees. Soon he is approached by a businessman, Amirchand Mittal, who offers him 10 lakh rupees in exchange of the sword. Somnath declines the offer. Sayantan Ghosal is an Indian film director and editor in Bengali cinema. He has directed several movies, including ''Jawker Dhan'', ''Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan'''', and Satyanweshi Byomkesh.'' Michael Madhusudan Dutt
Michael Madhusudan Dutt ((Bengali: মাইকেল মধুসূদন দত্ত); (25 January 1824 – 29 June 1873) was a Bengali poet and playwright. He is considered one of the pioneers of Bengali literature. Early life Dutt was born in Sagardari, a village in Keshabpur Upazila, Jessore District of Bengal, to a Hindu family. His family being reasonably well-off, Dutt received an education in the English language and additional tutorship in English at home. Katra Masjid
The Katra Masjid is a former caravanserai, mosque and the tomb of Nawab Murshid Quli Khan. It was built between 1723 and 1724. It is one of the largest caravanserais in the Indian subcontinent. It was built during the 18th century, when the early modern Bengal Subah was a major hub of trade in Eurasia. The Katra Masjid is located in the north eastern side of the city of Murshidabad, in the Indian state of West Bengal. The most striking feature of the structure are the two large corner towers having loopholes for musketry. The site is maintained and protected by the Archaeological Survey of India and the Government of West Bengal. Fort William is a fort in Hastings, Calcutta (Kolkata). It was built during the early years of the Bengal Presidency of British India. Khushbagh (also spelled as Khoshbagh; literally "Garden of Happiness") is the garden-cemetery of the Nawabs of Bengal, situated on the west bank of the Bhagirathi river, about a mile from its east bank, in the Murshidabad-Jiaganj CD block in Lalbag subdivision of Murshidabad district, West Bengal, India. Khushbagh hosts the graves of the Nawabs of Bengal of the Afshar dynasty and their family members; while Jafarganj Cemetery hosts the graves of the later Nawabs and their families, starting from Mir Jafar, who belonged to the Najafi dynasty. Sayyid Mīr Jaʿfar ʿAlī Khān Bahādur ( – 5 February 1765) was a military general who became the first dependent Nawab of Bengal of the British East India Company. His reign has been considered by many historians as the start of the expansion of British control of the Indian subcontinent in Indian history and a key step in the eventual British domination of vast areas of pre-partition India. Mir Jafar served as the commander of the Bengali army under Siraj ud-Daulah, the Nawab of Bengal, but betrayed him during the Battle of Plassey and succeeded Daulah after the British victory in 1757. Kalibari is a Kali temple on Bidhan Sarani in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The deity in the temple is known as Siddheshwari. On the occasion of Kali Puja, devotees gather at the temple for worship. History The Thanthania Kalibari was founded by Shankar Ghosh (whose grandson was Swami Subhodhananda, a direct disciple of 19th century mystic Ramakrishna) in 1803, as mentioned in the temple building itself. However, according to a different tradition it was built in 1703. The image of the presiding deity Siddheshwari is made of clay and the idol is painted every year with the colors red and black. Old Mission Church is the oldest Protestantism, Protestant Church, and the second oldest church in Kolkata. The Church is situated at R. N Mukherjee Road in Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. Charlotte Canning, Countess Canning (''née'' Stuart; 31 March 1817 – 18 November 1861) was a British artist and the first vicereine of India. She was one of India's most prolific women artists – two portfolios in the Victoria and Albert Museum contain some 350 watercolours by her, the result of four major tours in the country. Her husband was Charles Canning, who served as Governor-General of India from 1856 to 1858 and then as Viceroy of India until 1862.
