Alina Vyacheslavivna Berezhna (formerly Stadnyk, née Makhynia, ; born 3 January 1991) is a Ukrainian freestyle wrestler. She is the 2013 World champion in women's freestyle 67 kg. Personal life Makhynia was born on 3 January 1991 in Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia. She moved to Ukraine in 1994. Career Competing in the freestyle 67 kg category, Stadnyk won gold at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ankara and the 2013 European Championships in Tbilisi. In September 2013, she was awarded gold at the World Championships in Budapest, after defeating Stacie Anaka of Canada. In 2014, Stadnyk began appearing in 69 kg freestyle. She took bronze at the 2014 European Championships in Vantaa and gold at the 2015 European Games in Baku, defeating Israeli Ilana Kratysh in the finals. Chita, Zabaykalsky Krai
Chita (, ) is a city and the administrative center of Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia, located on the Trans-Siberian Railway route, roughly east of Irkutsk and roughly west of Khabarovsk. Population: History Pyotr Beketov's Cossacks founded Chita in 1653. The name of the settlement came from the local River Chita. Following the Decembrist revolt of 1825, from 1827 several of the Decembrists suffered exile to Chita. According to George Kennan, who visited the area in the 1880s, "Among the exiles in Chita were some of the brightest, most cultivated, most sympathetic men and women that we had met in Eastern Siberia." When Richard Maack visited the city in 1855, he saw a wooden town, with one church, also wooden. He estimated Chita's population at under 1,000, but predicted that the city would soon experience fast growth, due to the upcoming annexation of the Amur valley by Russia. Beach Wrestling At The 2019 World Beach Games
Beach wrestling at the 2019 World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar was held on 14 and 15 October 2019. The competitions were held on Katara Beach. In February 2021, the gold medal won by Pouya Rahmani of Iran (men's +90 kg) and the silver medal won by Mercy Genesis of Nigeria (women's 50 kg) were forfeited due to anti-doping rule violations. Beach wrestling is a type of wrestling that is specifically played on a beach or in a similar sandy environment, and that has been officially held since 2005. 2013 Summer Universiade
The 2013 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXVII Summer Universiade (; ), was held in the city of Kazan, Russia, the most northerly city ever to host a Summer Universiade. Over 10,400 university athletes from 162 countries participated in 13 mandatory and 14 optional sports, making the 2013 Universiade the biggest ever in the history of the event. The FISU World University Games, formerly the Universiade, is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The former name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The 1st European Games (), also known as the 2015 European Games or Baku 2015 (), were the inaugural edition of the European Games, an international multi-sport event for athletes representing the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the European Olympic Committees. It took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 12 to 28 June 2015, and featured almost 6,000 athletes from 50 countries competing in 30 sports, including 15 summer Olympic and 2 non-Olympic sports.
