Bloodshot (comics)
Bloodshot is a superhero created in 1992 by Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin, and Bob Layton, appearing in comic books published by the American publisher Valiant Comics. The Bloodshot character has had different origins and incarnations, but he is consistently a character empowered by experimental nanites (microscopic machines) injected into his bloodstream, a procedure that leaves a red circular scar on his chest, hence the name. This gives Bloodshot enhanced physical traits, the ability to repair damage to his body, an internal database of weapons and hand-to-hand combat training, and a mental connection to computers (technopathy). A side effect of the use of his powers is that his skin becomes chalk-white and his eyes become red. Other powers vary with each incarnation. Nexus (comics)
''Nexus'' is an American comic book series created by writer Mike Baron and penciler Steve Rude in 1981. The series is a combination of the superhero and science fiction genres, set 500 years in the future. Publication history The series debuted as a three-issue black-and-white limited series (the third of which featured a 33 RPM flexi disc with music and dialogue from the issue), followed by an ongoing full-color series which lasted 80 issues. The black-and-white issues and the first six color issues were published by Capital Comics; after Capital’s demise, First Comics took over publication. Valiant Beyond
Valiant Beyond is a reimagining and relaunching by Valiant Comics and Alien Books of its ongoing titles. Following the event of ''Resurgence of the Valiant Universe'', Valiant launched new series, featuring reimagined versions of Valiant superheroes. It is set to begin in August 2025, starting with ''Valiant Beyond: Bloodshot'' and ''Valiant Beyond: Tales of the Shadowman''. Publication history Valiant Beyond is a new reboot of the Valiant Universe following ''Resurgence of the Valiant Universe''. It was originally reported on by Bleeding Cool to be Valiant's response to the increase of separate comic universes using previous characters with more creative freedom, such as Marvel's Ultimate Universe. Shadowman (comics)
Shadowman is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by Valiant Comics. The character debuted in ''Shadowman'' #1 (May 1992), created by writers Jim Shooter and Steve Englehart, and artist David Lapham. Shadowman appears in his own series and video games, as well as numerous other Valiant comics. Shadowman is a lineage and four characters have taken up the mantle thus far in the comics and video games. The series protagonist is Jack Boniface. Since his introduction, Shadowman has been a key character in the Valiant Universe and has sold over 5.3 million copies to date, with 80 issues published. Archer & Armstrong
Archer & Armstrong is a superhero duo in the Valiant Comics universe. The two were originally created by writer and artist Barry Windsor-Smith and introduced in their own self-titled comic book series in 1992. After Acclaim Entertainment bought Valiant Comics in 1996, the two characters were rebooted in a series of one-shot comics entitled ''Eternal Warriors''. Valiant Entertainment, Inc. relaunched the Valiant Comics universe yet again in 2012 and ''Archer & Armstrong'' Volume 2 introduced a new version of the duo. Roku (comics)
Roku is a fictional supervillain and Antihero appearing in books published by the American publisher Valiant Comics. The character was created by Matt Kindt and Clay Mann. Fictional character biography Roku's original identity was Angelina Alcott, MI-6 agent and the daughter of another MI-6 agent, Neville Alcott. Angelina is the secret service liaison and spycraft instructor to novice trainee Colin King. While training, the two begin a secret affair. Colin fails an assignment against an assassin named Xaman, a follower of the Undead Monk. Ninjak
Ninjak is a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by Valiant Comics. The original incarnation of the character was created by Mark Moretti and Joe Quesada, The character was first introduced as a ninja and spy in the Valiant Comics series ''Bloodshot'' in July, 1993. His appearance in that series served to encourage interest ahead of his own self-titled series, which began in November that same year (although ''Ninjak'' vol. 1 #1 has a cover date of February, 1994). Acclaim Entertainment bought out Valiant Comics in 1996, after which Ninjak and other characters were rebooted. The Acclaim ''Ninjak'' series lasted only a year. Valiant Comics
Valiant Comics is an American comic books, comic book publisher, the first incarnation of which was founded in 1989 by former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Jim Shooter along with lawyer and businessman Steven Massarsky. In 1994, the company was sold to Acclaim Entertainment. After Acclaim’s 2004 bankruptcy, the company’s assets were purchased as part of Valiant Entertainment by entrepreneurs Dinesh Shamdasani and Jason Kothari in 2005.
