Alichino
''Alichino'' is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kouyu Shurei, originally published by Home-sha Inc. and Shueisha. It was translated and distributed by Tokyopop in North America and the United Kingdom; the Tokyopop version of the manga is out of print. Alichino are beautiful demons that offer wishes to those who are desperate to receive them. However, the price is one’s soul. To keep the balance ‘kusabi’ are born in order to kill Alichino and save humanity. But if the kusabi kills the alichino, then no wishes will be granted. Malebolge
In Dante Alighieri's '' Inferno'', part of the ''Divine Comedy'', Malebolge () is the eighth circle of Hell. Roughly translated from Italian, Malebolge means "evil ditches". Malebolge is a large, funnel-shaped cavern, itself divided into ten concentric circular trenches or ditches. Each trench is called a ''bolgia'' (Italian for "pouch" or "ditch"). Long causeway bridges run from the outer circumference of Malebolge to its center, pictured as spokes on a wheel. At the center of Malebolge is the ninth and final circle of hell. Kouyu Shurei
is a Japanese artist whose career includes illustrations for several series of novels, as well as creating doujinshi with the Shi no Tenshi circle. She was awarded the Cobalt Illustrator's Award in 1995. As a manga artist, Shurei's work, '' Alichino'' has gathered a considerable fanbase and critical acclaim, which is quite a feat for an artist's debut.
