Alice Ruiz
Alice Ruiz Scherone or Alice Ruiz Schneronk (born 22 January 1946) is a Brazilian writer, poet, haikuist, advertising professional, songwriter and Translation, translator. She has published more than 20 books, with her poems being translated in various languages and published in many countries. Biography Ruiz was born in Curitiba, in 1946. She began writing tales when she was 6 years old and began writing her first verses at age 16. During a long time she had only been published in magazines and newspapers. She published her first book at age 34. She compose songs since she was 26 and released in 2005 her first CD, ''Paralelas'', with Alziraz Espíndola, featuring known Brazilian musicians such as Zélia Duncan and Arnaldo Antunes. In total, Alice has 21 published works, such as books, poems, translations, songs and children's stories. Júlio Shimamoto
Julio Yoshinobu Shimamoto (born Borborema, May 13th, 1939), better known as Julio Shimamoto or Shima, is a Brazilian comic artist of Japanese descent. He started his career in the 1950s in the superhero comic book ''Capitão 7''. He has worked in almost all comic book publishers in Brazil in 1960s and 1970s, such as La Selva, Taika, Outubro, Ebal, Vecchi, Grafipar, Abril, among many others. His main works are ''Musashi I'' and ''Musashi II'' (2003), about the samurai Miyamoto Musashi, and ''Subs'' (2006). One of the main themes of his comics is the samurai (in fact, Shimamoto claims to be descended from samurai), having made the first story on the subject in Brazil: ''Os Fantasmas do Rincão Maldito'', published in 1961. Prêmio Jabuti
The Prêmio Jabuti (the "Tortoise Prize") is the most traditional literary award in Brazil, given by the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL). It was conceived by Edgard Cavalheiro in 1959 when he presided over the CBL, with the interest of rewarding authors, editors, illustrators, graphics and booksellers who stood out each year. In 1959, there were only seven categories: Literature, Cover, Illustration, Editor of the Year, Chart of the Year, Bookseller of the Year and Literary Personality. Subsequently, the award incorporated other categories involving the creation and production of books, such as Adaptation, Graphic Design and Translation. In addition to the traditional categories such as Romance, Tales and Chronicles, Poetry, Children's, Youth, Reportage and Biography. The "Fiction Book of the Year" and "Non-Fiction Book of the Year" categories were created in 1991 and 1993, respectively. Flavio Colin ( Rio de Janeiro, June 22, 1930 - Rio de Janeiro, August 13, 2002) was a Brazilian comic artist and illustrator, considered one of the most important comic artists in Brazil. He began his career in the 1950s with an adaptation for the comic book radio series ''As Aventuras do Anjo'', influenced by Milton Caniff, but began to gain prominence with the development of his own stylized artist style. In 1987, he was awarded with the Prêmio Angelo Agostini for Master of National Comics, an award that aims to honor artists who have dedicated themselves to Brazilian comics for at least 25 years. He also won the Troféu HQ Mix Troféu HQ Mix is a Brazilian comics award. The prize was created in 1989 by João Gualberto Costa (Gual) and José Alberto Lovetro (Jal), members of the Association of the Brazilian Cartoonists.
