Alice Gold
Alice Gold (born Alice McLaughlin) is an English singer-songwriter based in London, formerly signed to Sunday Best and currently signed to Fiction Records. Her debut single "Dolly Figured" was released under her original name on 21 October 2007. Her debut single as Alice Gold, "Orbiter", was released on 23 September 2010 through Pure Groove Records, with a single launch party at The Drop in Stoke Newington. ''The Guardian'' said it "showcases Gold's mighty voice through its power-pop chorus" and described her as "One to watch". Gold's debut album ''Seven Rainbows'', released on 4 July 2011, was produced by Dan Carey ( Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, Lily Allen). Noah And The Whale
Noah and the Whale were a British indie rock and folk band from Twickenham, formed in 2006 and dissolved in 2015. The band's last line-up consisted of Charlie Fink (Singing, vocals, guitar), Tom Hobden (violin/Keyboard instrument, keyboards), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass guitar), Fred Abbott (guitar/Keyboard instrument, keys) and Michael Petulla (Drum kit, drums). Nicolaas Douwma (born 13 April 1982), better known by his stage name Sub Focus, is an English DJ, music producer, songwriter and sound engineer. He has been releasing records since 2003. On 12 October 2009, he released his self-titled debut album. He released his second album, ''Torus'', on 30 September 2013. "Out the Blue" is the second single by British DJ and record producer Sub Focus to be released from his second studio album ''Torus''. The song features vocals from English singer Alice Gold. The song was Sub Focus's highest-charting single until the release of " Tidal Wave". Background and release Douwma wrote the song in mid-2010 and worked with several vocalists on demo versions of the song. During many DJ sets, including the Ultra Music Festival in 2011, he played a version of the song, featuring a vocoded vocal sample. The demo versions of the song also feature a variation in the melody that was cut out of the final version. Eventually, Alice Gold recorded the version that Douwma would go on to release as a single. Freedom Festival, Hull
The Freedom Festival is an annual music and performance arts festival held in the city of Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is named in honour of the Abolitionism in the United Kingdom, slave trade abolitionist, MP and son of Hull, William Wilberforce. The festival was established in 2007 to mark the 200th anniversary of Wilberforce's law, the Slave Trade Act 1807, to abolish the slave trade in the British Empire. Kendal Calling is a music and arts festival, held annually at Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District, Cumbria in the North West of England. T in the Park festival was a major Scottish music festival that was held annually from 1994 to 2016. It was named after its main sponsor, Tennents. The event was held at Strathclyde Park, Lanarkshire, until 1996. It then moved to the disused Balado airfield, Perth and Kinross, from 1997 to 2014. In 2015 the festival moved to Strathallan Castle. It was originally held over two days, and extended to three days from 2007. In 2016 the daily capacity was 70,000. The 2017 T in the Park was cancelled due to problems at the 2016 event. V Festival
V Festival, often referred to as V Fest or simply V, was an annual music festival held in the United Kingdom during the third weekend in August. The event was held at two parks simultaneously which shared the same bill; artists performed at one location on Saturday and then swapped on Sunday. The sites were located at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. In 2017, the final year of this format, the capacity of each site was 90,000. Richard Branson announced on 30 October 2017 that V Festival would be discontinued but that a new festival would replace it.
