Ali Mohammad is an Indian politician from West Bengal. He was elected to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Lalgola constituency in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election representing the All India Trinamool Congress. Early life and education Mohammad is from Lalgola, Murshidabad district, West Bengal. Career Mohammad broke the family reign of Abu Hena, defeating the seven time MLA. Earlier, Hena's father, Abdus Sattar, was also a seven time MLA. The family ruled the constituency from 1967 to 2020. He won the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. West Bengal Legislative Assembly
The West Bengal Legislative Assembly (ISO 15919, ISO: ''Paścimabaṅga Vidhānasabhā'') is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of West Bengal, located in eastern India. It consists of 294 members directly elected from single-seat constituencies through the first-past-the-post voting, FPTP voting system. The Assembly meets at Vidhan Sabha Bhavan in Kolkata, the capital of the state. Lalgola
Lalgola is a census town in the Lalgola CD block in the Lalbag subdivision of Murshidabad district, West Bengal. It is situated about north of Kolkata, near the head of the Ganges delta. It is a terminal railway station on the Ranaghat-Lalgola branch line. The distance between Lalgola railway station and Krishnapur railway station is one of the shortest distance between two railway stations in India (1.7 km). It is also a border checkpoint but presently non functional. Backdrop Lalgola is a trading hub situated near Bangladesh-India border surrounded by a number of large and small lakes (''dighis''). It was a settlement which came into existence after the Permanent Settlement in Bengal in 1793 by the Zamindar employed by the British East India Company. Abdus Sattar (5 Jun1) is an Indian National Congress politician, seven-time MLA and cabinet minister in the state. Early life Abdus Sattar, son of Kalimuddin Biswas, was born at Lalgola in Murshidabad district on 5 June 1925.
