North Shewa Zone (Oromia)
North Shewa ( Oromo: ''Shawaa Kaabaa'') is a zone in Oromia Region of Ethiopia. North Shewa takes its name from the kingdom of Shewa or former province of Shewa. North Shewa is bordered on the south by Addis Ababa on the southwest by West Shewa, on the north by North Shewa (Amhara), and on the southeast by East Shewa. Gojjam
Gojjam ( ''gōjjām'', originally ጐዛም ''gʷazzam'', later ጐዣም ''gʷažžām'', ጎዣም ''gōžžām'') is a historical provincial kingdom in northwestern Ethiopia, with its capital city at Debre Markos. During the 18th century, Gojjam's western neighbors were Agawmeder in the southwest and Qwara in the northwest. Agawmeder, never an organized political entity, was gradually absorbed by Gojjam until it reached west to the Sultanate of Gubba; Juan Maria Schuver noted in his journeys in Agawmeder (September 1882) that in three prior months, "the Abyssinians considerably advanced their frontier towards the West, effacing what was left of the independent regions." Gerba Guracha
Gerba Guracha (Oromo: ''Garba Gurraachaa'') is a town in central Ethiopia. Located in the North Shewa Zone of Oromia Region, Ethiopia, it is an inland port city in Selale. It has a latitude and longitude of and an elevation between 2,515 and 2,547 meters above sea level. It is the administrative center of Kuyu woreda. Degem is one of the Districts of Ethiopia, Aanaas in North Shewa Zone (Oromia), North Shewa Zone of Oromiya in Ethiopia. Degem is bordered on the south by Muger River which separates it from west shewa zone, on the west by Kuyu, on the northwest by Hidabu Abote, on the north by Jamma River which separates it from Amhara Region, on the northeast by Gerar Jarso, and on the east by Yaya Gulele.
