Algerian Handball Championship
The Algerian Handball Championship or the Division Excellence is the premier professional handball league in Algeria. It started in 1962 and 14 teams participate in the league. History The Algerian handball championship existed at the time of French colonization and was therefore affiliated with the French Handball Federation. From 1954 to 1959, there was a championship according to the regions. In 1960, regional championships were created played by clubs, the winners of each region being qualified for the final tournament, the winner of which was declared champion of Algeria. African Handball Confederation
The African Handball Confederation (acronym CAHB, referring to ) is the administrative and controlling body for African team handball. Founded on 15 January 1973 after the 1973 All-Africa Games, 2nd All-Africa Games in Lagos (Nigeria), it represents the national handball associations of Africa under the supervision of the International Handball Federation (IHF). The CAHB headquarters is located in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Its current president is Dr. Mansourou Aremou from Benin. The motto of the organisation is "Let's build African Handball together." Raed Chabab Kouba (), known as RC Kouba or simply RCK for short, is an Algerian football club based in Kouba, a district of Algiers. The club was founded in 1945 and its colours are green and white. Chabab Riadhi Belouizdad (); known as CR Belouizdad or simply CRB for short, is an Algerian professional football club based in Algiers, Algeria, that plays in the Ligue Professionnelle 1, the top flight of Algerian football. The club has competed in the top division for a record 55 seasons.
