Alfredo Fuentes Hernández
Alfredo Fuentes Hernández is a Colombian diplomat, lawyer and economist. He was a partner at Colombian law firm Palacios Lleras. Since October 2015 he is a partner and CEO at the Colombian Law Firm "Fuentes Hernández Asesores SAS". As the Director General for Legal Affairs, he became the interim Secretary General of the Andean Community of Nations in August 2006, after Allan Wagner Tizón's resignation. He was succeeded by Freddy Ehlers ( Ecuador), in January 2007. Fuentes was previously the Executive Director of the Cerrejón Foundation for the Institutional Strengthening, a program supported by thermal coal producer and exporter Cerrejon; and dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of the Andes, Colombia. He is an alumnus of the University of the Andes, Colombia, and earned a Ford Foundation scholarship to attend Harvard University and Boston University. The Secretary-General of the Andean Community is the chief administrative officer of the executive organ of the Andean Community. Since August 1, 1997, it also assumes the attributions of the Junta of the Cartagena Agreement. The National Order of Merit ( es, Orden Nacional al Mérito, links=no) is a civil order granted by the President of Ecuador. The Order, which is the second highest among the , was established on October 8, 1921, and promulgated in ' No. 337 on October 27, 1921. It was later modified by Decree No. 37 on June 28, 1937, and by Decree No. 3109 on September 26, 2002. The Constitutional Court of Colombia ( es, Corte Constitucional de Colombia) is the supreme constitutional court of Colombia.
