The DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is a shared universe centered on a group of film franchise, film franchises based on List of DC Comics characters, characters by DC Comics and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Despite numerous film franchise in the past on characters such as Superman and Batman, none of those film series were connected. The DCEU debuted in 2013 with ''Man of Steel (film), Man of Steel'', centered on Clark Kent (DC Extended Universe), Superman, and has grown to include other characters such as Bruce Wayne (DC Extended Universe), Batman, Diana Prince (DC Extended Universe), Wonder Woman, and several others included in this list. Batman (comic Book)
''Batman'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero Batman as its protagonist. The character, created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, first appeared in ''Detective Comics'' #27 (cover dated May 1939). Batman proved to be so popular that a self-titled ongoing comic book series began publication with a cover date of spring 1940. Comic Book Death
In the comic book fan community, the apparent death and subsequent return of a long-running character is often called a comic book death. A comic book death is generally not taken seriously by readers and is rarely permanent or meaningful other than for story or thematic purposes.
