Alfonso XIII Club de Fútbol was a Spanish Association football, football club located in Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, Galicia, that existed from 1915 until 16 October 1941, when it merged with Eiriña CF to form the Pontevedra CF. History Origins Founded in 1915, Alfonso XIII CF was officially established on 12 February 1921 after the relevant presentation of its regulations. Its uniform was a white and red striped shirt and black shorts, and it played its home games at Campo do Burgo. In 1918, Alfonso won the Galician B championship, thus achieving promotion to the top tier, where it reached the final at the first time of asking. Also in 1919, the team played some important Exhibition game, friendly matches, losing to CE Sabadell FC, Sabadell 1–0 and drawing with Stadium Ovetense 1–1. Fernando Ponte Conde (1907 – 10 June 1978) was a Spanish sports leader who served as the first president of Pontevedra CF between 1941 and 1942. Early life and education Born in 1907 in Vigo, Pontevedra, Fernando Ponte Conde studied at the in Madrid between 1920 and 1922, and in the following year, he earned his bachelor's degree. Pontevedra CF On 16 October 1941, the two top teams in Pontevedra, Eiriña CF and Alfonso XIII CF, which had been hindered by the Spanish Civil War, decided to join forces and merge into a single entity that was capable of representing the city with the proper support: ''Pontevedra Club de Fútbol'', and Ponte Conde was elected as its first president.
