Alf Klimek
Alfons Joseph "Alf" Klimek (born 3 February 1956) is an Australian musician. During the 1980s he was based in Berlin as a singer-songwriter for Spliff (as Alf Klimax, 1980–83) and The Other Ones (1984–90). That group included his younger twin siblings, Johnny and Jayney. In 1987, they had two hit singles, "Holiday" and "We Are What We Are", which charted in both Germany and the United States. Spliff (band)
Spliff was a German band that existed from 1980 to 1985. Their musical repertoire combined rock, funk, and electronic music. The keyboard sounds of Reinhold Heil, and later the electronic drums of the Simmons SDS-V brand, especially defined the sound of their music. The Band Herwig Mitteregger, Bernhard Potschka and Manfred Praeker met in the political rock band Lokomotive Kreuzberg. Together with Reinhold Heil, who was then active in the jazz group ''Bakmak,'' and Nina Hagen, they became known as the ''Nina Hagen Band'' and released two albums. After the separation from Nina Hagen, the four musicians, at the suggestion of manager Jim Rakete, along with singer Alf Klimek (“Klimax”), German-American DJ Rik De Lisle, and singers Lisa Bialac and Lyma Russel, created the rock opera ''Spliff Radio Show.'' The Other Ones (Australian-German Band)
The Other Ones were a pop rock band which formed in Berlin in 1984. Australian-born siblings Alf Klimek (lead vocals), the twins Jayney Klimek (lead vocals) and Johnny Klimek (bass guitar) were joined by a German-born trio of Stephan Gottwald (keyboards), Andreas Schwarz-Ruszczynski (guitars) and Uwe Hoffmann (drums). They issued two albums, ''The Other Ones'' (1986) and ''Learning to Walk'' (1988), before disbanding in 1990. Their second single, "We Are What We Are" (May 1987), peaked in the United States ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and reached the top 40 on the New Zealand Singles Chart. Johnny Klimek
Johnny Klimek (born 18 August 1962) is an Australian musician, music producer, and composer, best known for his innovative work in the underground electronica music scene and for his film scores. Life and career Klimek was born in Melbourne, Australia. His mother, Luisa née Cester (born 29 January 1916 in Pasiano di Pordenone) was a daughter of the couple Eugenia and Ernesto Cester. In the summer of 1940, she left Friuli-Venezia Giulia for Australia. After the Second World War, she married Alfons Klimek (died 1998) and gave birth to eight children: Eugenia, Lydia, Naomi (born 1953), Greta, Alfons junior, Robert, and twins Jayney and Johnny (born August 1962). Jayney Miriam Klimek (born 18 August 1962 in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian singer-songwriter based in Berlin. Early years Jayney Miriam Klimek was born on 18 August 1962 and grew up in Melbourne. Jet are an Australian rock band formed in 2001. Founding mainstays are brothers Nic (vocals, rhythm guitar, piano) and Chris Cester (drums, vocals) together with Cameron Muncey (lead guitar and vocals). They were joined in the following year by Mark Wilson (bass guitar). Festival Of Fools
The Festival of Fools is an annual Street Festival held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, usually during the May Bank Holiday weekend. It first started in 2004 and includes performances from around the world. Performers are paid a fixed amount and money collected from audiences at the end of each show is used to fund the next years show.
