Alexis Mac Allister
Alexis Mac Allister (born 24 December 1998) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for club Brighton & Hove Albion and the Argentina national team. Born to a footballing family, Mac Allister started his senior career with Argentinos Juniors in 2016, winning the Argentine second division in his debut season. He joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2019, but was immediately loaned back to Juniors until the end of the season. During his second year at Brighton, he was again loaned to Argentina, to Boca Juniors, where he won the 2019–20 Primera División. Returning from loan the following season, Mac Allister had his breakthrough year for Brighton, becoming a key player for the Premier League side. Twenty-three teams competed in the league, twenty returning from the 2016 season, one team that was relegated from Primera División and two teams promoted from Federal A and B Metropolitana. Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game.
