Alexis Bloom
Alexis Bloom is a South African documentary film director and producer. Her works include ''Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds'' (2016) and ''Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes'' (2018). She has been nominated for three Emmy Awards. She co-directed “Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg” (2023) and directed “The Bibi Files” (2024) for which she was shortlisted for an Academy Award. Biography Bloom was born in Johannesburg. Her father is Jewish. She graduated from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2001, and began her career editing for ''Frontline (American TV program), Frontline''. She married Fisher Stevens in 2017. They have two children. It was screened as a work-in-progress film at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, and had its official world premiere at Doc NYC on November 14, 2024. It was later released on direct-to-consumer film platform Jolt in the United States on December 11, 2024. Background As part of the investigation into bribery and fraud allegations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli police recorded thousands of hours of interrogation footage from 2016 to 2018.
