Alexei Voronov
Alexei Voronov (born September 29, 1977) is a Russian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Career Voronov began his career with his hometown team Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg who later became Spartak Yekaterinburg and Dinamo-Energija Yekaterinburg. He played with the team from 1993 to 2003, playing in the Russian Superleague until their relegation to the Vysshaya Liga 2001. He then moved to Sputnik Nizhny Tagil of the Vysshaya Liga in 2003 and stayed for four seasons before returning to Yekaterinburg in 2007 to join Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, a new team founded the previous year to replace the former Dinamo-Energija team that folded in 2006. He then spent a season with Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk before returning to Avtomobilist for the 2009–10 KHL season, playing 44 games and scoring six goals and seven assists. The Erste Liga (formerly the MOL Liga) is an international ice hockey league organized for clubs based in Hungary and Romania. It is sponsored by the Erste Bank Hungary. The games played between the Hungarian teams count towards the Hungarian National Championship in the OB I Bajnokság. Sputnik 1 (; see § Etymology) was the first artificial Earth satellite. It was launched into an elliptical low Earth orbit by the Soviet Union on 4 October 1957 as part of the Soviet space program. The Emirates Hockey League (EHL) is the national ice hockey league of the United Arab Emirates. The league is governed by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Founded in 2009 by the country’s Winter Sports Federation and the Emirates Olympic Committee, and licensed by the International Hockey Federation, the league now (2019) consists of six teams: the Abu Dhabi Scorpions, the Dubai Vipers/White Bears (previously Al Ain Vipers and Dubai Oilers), the Dubai Mighty Camels, the Abu Dhabi Storms, the Al Ain Theebs and the Abu Dhabi Shaheen Falcons.
