Alexandru Nicolae (born 17 March 1955) is a Romanian former football Defender (association football), defender. Club career Alexandru Nicolae was born on 17 March 1955 in Bucharest where he started playing football at junior level in 1968 at ȘSE 2 București and in 1973 he played at FC Sportul Studențesc București, Sportul Studențesc București's youth academy. In 1974 he started his senior career, playing four seasons in Liga II, Divizia B at FC Gloria Buzău, Gloria Buzău, helping the team promote to Liga I, Divizia A where he made his debut on 24 August 1978 in a 1–0 loss against FCM Târgoviște, CS Târgoviște. After playing two seasons in Liga I, Divizia A with FC Gloria Buzău, Gloria Buzău, he went to play for FC Olt Scornicești, Olt Scornicești for two seasons and even if during this time he had offers to play for FC Steaua București, Steaua București, he chose in 1982 to follow his dream which was to play for FC Dinamo București, Dinamo București. Cupa României
The Cupa României ( en, Romanian Cup) is a football cup competition for Romanian teams which has been held annually since 1933–34, except during World War II. It is the country's main cup competition, being open to all clubs affiliated with the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and the county football associations regardless of the league they belong to. Currently, the winner of the competition is granted a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers and plays the Supercupa României. The Soviet Union national football team ( rus, сбо́рная СССР по футбо́лу, r=sbórnaya SSSR po futbólu) was the national football team of the former Soviet Union. After the breakup of the Union the team was transformed into the CIS national football team. FIFA considers the CIS national football team (and ultimately, the Russia national football team) as the Soviet successor team allocating its former records to them (except for the Olympic records which are not combined due to the IOC policy); nevertheless, a large percentage of the team's former players came from outside the Russian SFSR, mainly from the Ukrainian SSR, and following the breakup of the Soviet Union, some such as Andrei Kanchelskis from the former Ukrainian SSR, continued to play in the new Russia national football team. U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, commonly known as Universitatea Craiova (), CS U Craiova, or simply U Craiova, is a Romanian professional football team based in Craiova, Dolj County, which competes in the Liga I, the top tier of the Romanian league system. The 1989–90 UEFA Cup was won by Juventus on aggregate over Fiorentina. This was the first final between two Italian sides in the UEFA competitions history and the third between two clubs of the same country. It was the last season for which English clubs were banned from European competitions, as sequel to the Heysel disaster in May 1985. The English clubs who missed out of this season of the competition were Nottingham Forest and Norwich City.
