Alexandre Quennoz
Alexandre Quennoz (born 21 September 1978) is a former Swiss football player, who last played as a defender for Swiss Super League club Neuchâtel Xamax. Football career Born in Sion, Valais, Quennoz played his youth football and started his career at local club FC Sion. He advanced to Sion's first team in 1996 under head-coach Alberto Bigon and during his first season he had five appearances for them, as they topped the table to become Swiss champions. During the next season Quennoz advanced to become a regular starter under new head-coach Jean-Claude Richard. Quennoz played three seasons for Sion before he moved on. Quennoz joined FC Basel's first team for their 1999–2000 season under new head-coach Christian Gross. After playing in four test matches and four games in the UI Cup Quennoz played his domestic league debut for his new club in the away game on 31 October 1999 as Basel played a 2–2 draw with SR Delémont. FC Aarau
FC Aarau is a Swiss football club based in Aarau. They play in the Swiss Challenge League, the second tier of Swiss football after being relegated from Swiss Super League. History FC Aarau was formed on 26 May 1902 by workers from a local brewery. The early days of the club were a success and they won the Swiss championship in 1911–12 and then again in 1913–14. The club spent 25 years, from 1907 to 1933, in the top league but were relegated to the lower league and were unable to return to the top flight for a number of decades. In the 1980–81 season the club were able to return to the top league in the Swiss football pyramid after a 3–1 victory over Vevey-Sports. They have stayed there ever since and in the 1992–93 season they won the Swiss National League A managed by Austrian Rolf Fringer. 2003–04 FC Basel Season
The 2003–04 season was Fussball Club Basel 1893's 111th in existence and the club's 10th consecutive season in the Nationalliga A, the top flight of Swiss football. Basel played their home games in the newly constructed St. Jakob-Park complex. Local businessman Werner Edelmann was the club's chairman for the second consecutive season. The Club's main aims for the 2003–04 season were to regain the league title and, as cup holders, to retain their cup title. The third aim was to remain in the UEFA Cup as long as possible. During pre-season Basel won the Uhrencup and the Alpen Cup.
