Alexandra Korelova
Alexandra Jurjevna Korelova (born 1 August 1977) is a Russian Olympic dressage rider. She competed at two Summer Olympics (in 2004 and 2008). Her best Olympic achievement came in 2008 when she finished 8th individually. Korelova participated at two World Equestrian Games (in 2002 and 2006), finishing 27th on both of the occasions. She also has four participations at the European Dressage Championships (in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009). She placed 6th in the freestyle competition in 2007, which is also her best championship placing. Korelova participated at the 2003 edition of the Dressage World Cup Final, finishing in 9th position. Orlov Trotter
The Orlov Trotter (also known as ''Orlov;'' Russian: орловский рысак) is a horse breed with a hereditary fast trot, noted for its outstanding speed and stamina. It is the most famous Russian horse. The breed was developed in Russia in the late 18th century by Count Alexei Orlov at his Khrenovskoy stud farm near the town of Bobrov ( Voronezh Guberniya). The Orlovs emerged as the result of crossing various European mares (primarily of English, Dutch, Mecklenburg, and Danish breeding) with Arabian stallions. During the 19th century, Orlov trotters were used mainly for riding and harness racing by Russian nobility. They were valued for their beauty and elegance combined with the ability to work hard. European Dressage Championships
The European Dressage Championships are the European championships for the equestrian discipline of dressage. They are held every two years in odd-numbered years. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded in both individual and team competitions. There are also championships held for juniors, young riders, and ponies. Since 2015, the competition has shared a site and branding with vaulting, reining, jumping, and driving events. The 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games were held in Aachen, Germany from August 20 to September 3, 2006. They were the 5th edition of the games which are held every four years and run by the FEI. It was held in the Soers, a district of Aachen. The main stadium of this event was the Hauptstadion.
