Alexander Föhr
Alexander Paul Föhr (born 1 August 1980) is a German politician from the Christian Democratic Union. Since 2023, he has been a Member of the German Bundestag from the state of Baden-Württemberg. Biography Föhr passed his Abitur at the in Heidelberg in 2000. He then completed military service with the Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion 12 in . Between 2001 and 2008 he studied political science, public law and history at the University of Mainz. He graduated with a master's degree. From 2008 to 2012 he worked in the department of Mayor at the City of Heidelberg. Until he entered the Bundestag in 2023, he was Head of Communications and Politics at the AOK Baden-Württemberg . Föhr is married, has three children and lives in Heidelberg. Political career Foehr is a member of the CDU. He has been a member of the municipal council of Heidelberg since 2014. Heidelberg (electoral District)
Heidelberg is an electoral constituency ( German: ''Wahlkreis'') represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 274. It is located in northwestern Baden-Württemberg, comprising the city of Heidelberg and the northern part of the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis district. Heidelberg was created for the inaugural 1949 federal election. Whilst the Christian Democratic Union won a plurality in the 2025 election, under the new voting system, their candidate did not actually win a seat in the Bundestag. This was due to the distribution of seats won by the CDU being decided by the first (direct) vote percentage of each winning CDU candidate, determining who took the seats. The 2021 German federal election was held in Germany on 26 September 2021 to elect the members of the 20th Bundestag. State elections in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern were also held.
