	Alexander Fraser, 11th Lord Saltoun Alexander Fraser, 11th Lord Saltoun (March 4, 1604 – August 11, 1693), was a Scottish peer and the 10th Laird of Philorth. Life Fraser was born in 1604 in the young town of Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. His father was Alexander Fraser (died 1623), Sir Alexander Fraser (1570–1636), and his mother was Lady Margaret Abernethy, daughter of Sir George Abernethy, 7th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy. He entered King's College, Aberdeen, in 1619. Upon the death of his father in 1636, he inherited the lands of Frasers of Philorth, Philorth as its 10th Laird. Alexander subscribed the Solemn League and Covenant at Aberdeen in 1638 and was a member of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland at Glasgow in 1639. Also in 1639, while serving under James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose, the Earl of Montrose, he led 200 men against the castles of Kellie Castle, Kellie and Gight. 	Alexander Fraizer Sir Alexander Fraizer FRS (1610? – 3 May 1681), was a Scottish physician. Life Fraizer was born in Scotland about 1610, and graduated M.D. at Montpellier on 1 October 1635. He was incorporated at Cambridge on 9 March 1637, and was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians on 23 November 1641. He was a faithful royalist, followed Charles II abroad, and became his physician. The king placed confidence in him, and he was in turn courted and abused by the factions which grew up among the English exiles on the continent. He was once friendly with Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon and at another time avoided communication with him. 	Alexander Fraser (Royal Navy Officer) Vice-Admiral Alexander Fraser (1747–29 December 1829) was a Royal Navy officer who served in the American War of Independence and French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He was responsible for the landing parties in the Battle of Long Island, captured several privateers and took place in the Second Battle of Copenhagen. Life He was born in Lerwick on the Shetland Isles the son of Hugh Fraser, an exciseman, and his wife, Jane Linning. He joined the Royal Navy as a boy in 1761 serving on the 10-gunner cutter HMS ''Fly'' under George Gayton. He was present at the Capture of Belle Ile later that year. 	Alexander Fraser (archivist) Alexander Fraser (1860–1936) was a historian, public lecturer, journalist and secretary to the lieutenant-governor of Ontario from 1914 to 1933. He was also the first archivist of Ontario, from 1903 to 1935. Fraser emigrated to Canada in 1886, where he found work as a journalist at the ''Toronto Mail'', later the ''Toronto Mail and Empire''. He would later become the city editor in 1889 and resigned in 1898. He was also an editor of several Canadian periodicals, including ''Massey's Illustrated'', ''The Scottish Canadian'', ''The Presbyterian Review'', and ''Fraser's Scottish Annual''. Also a Presbyterian preacher, Fraser was also involved at the University of Toronto's Knox College, where he lectured in Celtic history, taught Gaelic as well as preached. 	Alexander Fraser, 4th Lord Lovat Alexander Fraser, 4th Lord Lovat (1527 – 1557/1558) was a Scottish peer and Chief of Clan Fraser of Lovat from 1544 until 1557. He succeeded to the chiefship in July 1544, aged seventeen, after his father Hugh Fraser, 3rd Lord Lovat and elder brother Simon were killed in the battle of Loch Lochy.
