Alex Ross (rugby Union)
Alec Ross (4 November 1905 – 30 August 1996) was an Australian state and national representative rugby union player who captained the Wallabies in thirteen Test matches in 1933-34. Career Ross was schooled at Sydney Grammar and studied medicine at Sydney University while attending St Andrew's College. He made his first representative appearance in 1925 at the time when the Queensland Rugby Union administration was dormant rendering the New South Wales Waratahs the top Australian representative rugby union side of the period 1919 to 1929. A number of the Waratah fixtures of 1920s which were played against full international opposition and in which Ross appeared were decreed by the Australian Rugby Union in 1986 as official Test matches. In 1925 Ross debuted with appearances for New South Wales against New Zealand in a first XV, a second XV and an "A" XV. Cundletown is a town on the Mid North Coast, New South Wales, Australia. Cundletown and the nearby larger town of Taree were both settled in 1831 by William Wynter. Maxwell Leo "Max" Howell AO ''(né'' Maxwell Leopold Howell; 23 July 1927 – 3 February 2014) was an Australian educator and rugby union player. He played 5 Tests and 27 non-Test games for Australia between 1946 and 1948. He went on to become a physical education teacher and Professor at the University of Queensland. In 2003, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia "for service to education as a pioneer in the development of sports studies and sport science as academic disciplines". After his career as player he went to North America.
