Alex Masucci
Alexander Masucci (born November 11, 1949) is an American music executive, record producer, songwriter and promoter. Biography Alex Masucci was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His brother is the late Jerry Masucci, an attorney, music executive and co-founder of Fania Records. Masucci attended Universidad de las Américas, A.C. in Mexico City. He began working part-time at Fania Records as a teenager. He also jointly established A&R Film Distributors in 1972 with Ray Aviles and distributed Fania Records' film, Our Latin Thing. He subsequently worked at Island Records, Boardwalk Records, PolyGram and became the President of Island Records Latin music label in Miami. Since then he has formed his own companies, Masucci Entertainment and Haz-Mat Entertainment. Robert Nesta Marley (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981) was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and guitarist. "Now That We Found Love" (also known as "Now That We've Found Love") is a song written by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff and originally recorded by American R&B/soul vocal group the O'Jays for their seventh album, '' Ship Ahoy'' (1973). Third World version A reggae-disco hit by the reggae band Third World, this cover version was released as a single in 1978 by Island Records and peaked at number 10 in the UK. In the US, it went to number 47 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number 9 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. In Canada the song reached number 55. Third World is a Jamaican reggae fusion band formed in 1973. Their sound is influenced by soul, funk and disco. Although it has undergone several line-up changes, Stephen "Cat" Coore and Richard Daley have been constant members. The Fania All-Stars is a musical group formed in 1968 as a showcase for the musicians on Fania Records, the leading salsa music record label of the time. History Beginnings In 1964, Fania Records was founded in New York City by Jerry Masucci, an Italian-American lawyer with a love for Cuban music, and Johnny Pacheco, a flutist, percussionist and bandleader born in the Dominican Republic but raised in the South Bronx who had similar musical tastes.
